SEMESTER ABROAD PROGRAM (SAP): 104 students were sponsored in 2008 for a semester at MIT, Carnegie Mellon, UC Davis, Wisconsin and Western Australia...

 Respected Sir,

I am Mehul Oswal (Reg No: 11908025), 3rd Year Aerospace student sponsored by SRM University for a semester abroad at MIT, Boston for the Fall term 2010.
Sir, words and lines would be too small & too short to describe what SRM has done for me by selecting me to undertake a semester here and offering a financial scholarship of Rs 5 lacs to help me in the tuition fees here.
Had this encouragement not been there I would probably have not seen an institution as wonderful as M I T. But let me simultaneously convey my feelings that had my grooming of first 2 years at Aerospace dept at SRM not been there it would not have been possible for me to score a GPA of 5 on a scale of 5, here at MIT.
My performance in the fall semester enabled me to get an extension here for one more term, Spring 2011. I have just got the extension approved by MIT.
This term would get over by end of May after which I will return for my final year at SRM and would pay my regards in person then, for this wholehearted support and endeavour offered by SRM, Aerospace Dept, teachers and management staff to me.
I look forward to coming back to SRM in June 2011.
Thanking you with warm regards,
Mehul Oswal, MIT Special Student Fall 2010

TOP SALARY FOR STUDENT: Sahil has been offered $ 89,000. He was sponsored to Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, under semester abroad program (SAP)...

I have received a job offer in San Francisco, USA. My starting compensation would be $89000.00 (~INR 42 lakhs) per annum with few additional benefits and perks. I'm yet to decide my date of joining, as this would be after I receive my B.Tech degree from SRM
In November, they flew me to California for an onsite interview. But before that, I was asked to select a few groups of my choice and my career interest - and was interviewed on that. I can now further my studies at Stanford.
During this whole term at MIT, I attended many interviews and was in touch with various companies. To meet and interview with CEO's and Directors' of various companies has been a great experience in itself. Just a year ago, I couldn't have imagined this happening to me (a normal SRM student). It would have been unthinkable that a company would fly and pay all expenses for hiring a fresher.
SRM's initiative of sending us to MIT has changed our lives and the way we think, perceive and react to situations. It has changed various other dimensions of our life too. I'm happy I had this opportunity and was able to get a job offer of my liking.
I'm happy to say "I got placed", just like every other SRM student who's got a job would say, but I am sure you can see the difference SAP has made in this placement.
SRM's support has been truly fundamental in making my dream come true. It has brought a phenomenal change to my life through SAP. I can't express how thankful I am to you for providing me
this opportunity.

SRM student got the copyright of a software

Software Copyright

Divyans Mahansaria, a final year B.Tech/CSE student has acquired copyright for a software to control shoulder surfing. The software was designed by Divyans Mahansaria, with significant help from R. S. Diwaagar (B.Tech/IT, 2009 Batch)

Shoulder Surfing

Shoulder surfing uses direct observation techniques, such as looking over someone's shoulder, to get information. Shoulder surfing is an effective way to get information because it's relatively easy to stand next to someone and watch as the user types in information to authenticate himself/herself to enter into a particular system. Often users are unaware of the presence of any external device, such as, a camera, which may be placed in order to trap the user and obtain valuable information, such as, passwords, while the user types through.
In order to control shoulder surfing, Divyans Mahansaria and R. S. Diwaagar have developed a software (SS2.5) which can play a major role in culminating shoulder surfing. This software version is an enhanced version of SS1.0 (previously developed by them).

SS2.5

This software solution can be used during initial login after booting of a computer, during authentication - which may be required before using particular software, opening important documents etc. It can be integrated with any email service provider such as Hotmail, Yahoo, Google etc. It could also be used in websites wherever a user name & password is initially required for authentication. Thus it covers the entire domain of computer systems where initial authentication is a must.
SS2.5 can even be integrated with ATM Machines and other forms of electronic devices requiring authentication before providing access to its users. Thus it covers a broad range of applications.
Divyans Mahansaria is in talks with leading software companies for bulk manufacturing and marketing of the software. The idea behind the software has won acclaim at various international conferences and has also been published in a journal.
